Da 12 anni Società Libera, Associazione apolitica di cultura liberale, promuove la Marcia Internazionale per la Libertà delle Minoranze e dei Popoli Oppressi, per denunciare la privazione delle libertà fondamentali e le difficoltà per l’autodeterminazione di milioni di persone.

Auspicando lo sviluppo di società aperte in cui tutti possano realizzare le proprie aspirazioni, con sempre meno invasività di Stati e monopoli, riteniamo che non basti occuparsi delle domestiche libertà politiche ed economiche se non si affronta il nodo dei Diritti Umani nel mondo: la difesa della Libertà non può non essere globale, dal momento che se ne avverte il bisogno in un quarto dei Paesi.

Con questi intendimenti, insieme a numerose comunità dei popoli oppressi in esilio, Tibetani, Uyghuri, Venezuelani, Iraniani, Vietnamiti, ogni anno marciamo silenziosamente per sensibilizzare opinione pubblica ed istituzioni, lo abbiamo fatto contemporaneamente anche a Parigi, Berlino, Bruxelles e Barcellona.

Iniziativa, questa, che è parsa stravagante al mondo liberale, forse perché abituato a concepire la cultura delle Libertà come oggetto di approccio “intellettuale”. Di fatto riteniamo che la nostra stessa passione per la globalità della Libertà possa accomunare la galassia liberale, superando la sua frammentarietà.

C’è necessità di segnali significativi ed efficaci delle istituzioni occidentali che affermano il rispetto dei Diritti Umani con dichiarazioni di principio, ma che, nei fatti, concludono accordi con Governi che hanno ben poca considerazione per principi per noi non barattabili.

Ricordiamo la “Via della Seta”, suggestione che conduce in Cina, Paese che reprime sistematicamente i diritti delle minoranze Tibetana, Uyghura, Mongola e che in Africa promuove una politica neocoloniale con uso sconsiderato dell’ambiente; il regime a partito unico nel Laos e in Cambogia; la libertà religiosa negata in Vietnam; la repressione della minoranza degli Harratin nel sud di Algeria, Marocco e Mauritania; la negazione dei diritti fondamentali di Indios, Kurdi e Sudanesi; le minoranze cristiane, poi, perseguitate massicciamente, e non sostenute adeguatamente da istituzioni e gerarchie ecclesiastiche.
Particolare attenzione dedicheremo quest’anno alla causa, più che mai preoccupante, della Libertà del popolo di Hong Kong.

Il nostro impegno vuole essere efficace anche rispetto ai “professionisti dei Diritti Umani”, che ragionano per compartimenti stagni, usando approcci emotivi e politicamente corretti.

Il liberalismo italiano testimoni il proprio impegno marciando, silenziosamente, per 5 Km sulla Via Francigena, cammino simbolo della libertà dei Popoli. Non abbia ragione Giorgio Gaber con il suo canto “è bello occuparsi dei dolori di tanta tanta gente, dal momento che in fondo non ce ne frega niente”. Marciamo insieme, proviamo a scuoterla questa opinione pubblica, trasformiamo l’appuntamento annuale sul tratto finale della via Francigena in uno stimolante segnale per le Genti d’Europa.

• Basta con l’occuparsi della Libertà nel mondo solo in campagna elettorale
• Basta con i liberali che trascurano la repressione delle libertà fondamentali
• Basta con l’Occidente che si crogiola nel politicamente corretto
• Basta con l’Europa che non vuol vedere l’espansione coloniale cinese in Africa
• Basta con i cristiani che ignorano i massacri dei cristiani
• Basta con l’informazione che segue logiche di corte, non di verità e conoscenza

Dear Friends,

Società Libera, a non political Association for Liberal culture, has been promoting the International March for the Freedom of Oppressed Minorities and Peoples for 12 years, in order to denounce the deprivation of fundamental freedoms and the difficulties that hundreds of millions people meet pursuing the right to self determination.

Hoping that open societies develop, where all can realize their potential, with States and monopolies being less and less invasive, we are aware that it is not enough to deal with internal political and economical freedoms, as long as we do not tackle the crucial issue of Human Rights in the World: the defense of Freedom cannot but be global, as its need is felt in a quarter of the Countries.

Having these purposes in mind, we march silently every year, together with the Communities of exiled oppressed  peoples, among which Uyghurs, Venezuelans, Iranians, Vietnamese, in order to sensitize public opinion and institutions; we have also done it in Paris, Berlin, Brussels and Barcelona.

This initiative has seemed odd to the liberal world, maybe because it is used to think of the culture of freedom as subject to an “intellectual” approach. In fact, we believe that the same passion for the globality of Freedom can join the liberal galaxy, overcoming its fragmentation and contributing to affirm its own specificity.

We need significant and effective signals from those Western institutions that state the respect of Human Rights with declarations of principle, but in fact make agreements with Governments having little consideration for these principles. And these principles, in our opinion, cannot be bargained.

We can mention the Silk Road, a suggestion that leads to China, a Country that systematically represses the rights of the Tibetan, Uyghur and Mongolian minorities and is promoting a neocolonial policy in Africa with a reckless use of the environment; the one party regime in Laos and Cambodia, the denied religious freedom in Vietnam, the repression of the minority of Harratin in the South of Algeria, Morocco and Mauritania, the denial of fundamental rights for the Indios, Kurds and Sudanese.

Christian minorities, moreover, are massively prosecuted and not supported enough by ecclesiastical institutions and hierarchies.

Our common commitment can also be effective  compared to the one of the “professionals of Human Rights”, who compartmentalize and use emotional and politically correct approaches.

Italian Liberalism must testimony its commitment marching silently for 5 Km on the Via Francigena, a route symbol of the freedom of Peoples. Let us not agree with Giorgio Gaber, who used to sing  “It’s good to be concerned with the suffering of so many people, as basically we do not care about it.”. Let us march together, let us practice a Liberalism that is not only chatted about, let us try to shake this public opinion, let us transform the yearly appointment on the final stretch of the Via Frangicena into a signal challenging Peoples of Europe.

• Enough with taking care of Freedom in the world only during election campaigns
• Enough with Liberals who overlook the repression of fundamental freedoms
• Enough with the Western world that basks in what is politically correct.
  
• Enough with Europe that closes its eyes to the Chinese colonial expansion in Africa
• Enough with Christians who ignore the massacre of Christians in the world
• Enough with information media acting as courtiers and not looking for truth and knowledge.

Chers Amis,

depuis 12 ans Società Libera, Association apolitique de culture libérale, promeut la Marche Internationale pour la Liberté des Minorités et des Peuples Opprimés, pour dénoncer la privation de libertés fondamentales et les difficultés pour le droit à l’autodétermination que rencontrent des centaines de millions de personnes.

Souhaitant le développement de sociétés ouvertes, où tous puissent réaliser leur potentiel , avec de moins en moins d’envahissement de la part des Etats et des monopoles, nous sommes conscients qu’il ne suffit par de s’occuper des libertés internes politiques et économiques, si on n’affronte pas la question cruciale des Droits de l’Homme dans le monde : la défense de la Liberté ne peut qu’être globale, car on en sent le besoin dans un quart des Pays.

Ayant ces intentions, avec de nombreuses communautés de peuples opprimés en exil, parmi lesquels des Tibétains, Ouighours, Vénézuéliens, Iraniens, Vietnamiens, tous les ans nous marchons silencieusement pour sensibiliser l’opinion publique et les institutions ; nous l’avons fait aussi à Paris, Berlin, Bruxelles et Barcelone.

Cette action a paru bizarre au monde libéral, peut être parce qu’il a l’habitude de concevoir la culture de la liberté comme l’objet d’une approche «intellectuelle». En fait nous estimons que la même passion pour la globalité de la Liberté peut rapprocher la «galaxie» libérale, en surmontant sa fragmentation et en contribuant à l’affirmation de ses propres spécificités.

Nous avons besoin de signaux significatifs et efficaces de la part des institutions occidentales qui affirment le respect des Droits de l’Homme dans leurs déclarations de principe mais qui, dans les faits, concluent des accords avec des Gouvernements qui tiennent peu compte de ces principes, qui, pour nous, ne peuvent être troqués contre quoi que ce soit.

Nous rappelons la «Route de la Soie», nom évocateur qui nous conduit à la Chine, Pays qui réprime systématiquement les droits des minorités Tibétaine, Ouighoure, Mongole et qui en Afrique mène une politique néocoloniale avec un usage irréfléchi de l’environnement ; le régime à parti unique au Laos et au Cambodge ; la liberté religieuse niée au Vietnam ; la répression de la minorité des Harratin dans le sud de l’Algérie, du Maroc et de la Mauritanie, la négation des droits fondamentaux des Indios, des Kurdes et des Soudanais.

Les minorités chrétiennes, elles, sont poursuivies massivement, et ne sont pas soutenues par les institutions et les hiérarchies ecclésiastiques.

Notre engagement commun pourra être efficace aussi par rapport à celui des «professionnels des Droits de l’Homme» qui raisonnent  par «catégories étanches» et utilisent des approches émotionnelles et politiquement correctes.

Il faut que le libéralisme témoigne son engagement, en marchant silencieusement 5 km sur la voie Francigène, chemin symbole de la LIberté des Peuples. Ne donnons pas raison au chanteur Giorgio Gaber, qui chantait qu’ « il est bon de s’occuper des douleurs de tant de personnes, à partir du moment où, au fond, on s’en fiche ». Marchons ensemble, pratiquons-un libéralisme qui ne soit pas seulement un «bavardage», essayons de secouer l’ opinion publique, transformons ce rendez-vous annuel sur le dernier tronçon de la Voie Francigène en un signal qui soit motivant pour les gens d’Europe. 

• Arrêtons de s’occuper des Libertés dans le monde seulement en campagne électorale
• Assez avec les libéraux qui négligent la répression des libertés fondamentales
• Assez avec l’Occident qui se prélasse dans le « politiquement correct »
• Assez avec l’Europe qui ne veut pas voir l’expansion coloniale chinoise en Afrique
• Assez avec les chrétiens qui ignorent les massacres des chrétiens dans le monde
• Assez avec l’information qui suit des logiques de courtisan et non pas de vérité et de connaissance
